The scarves are coming…

I am so excited to announce to you that Fashion Trend Spotting and Scarf It Up has landed a fantastic manufacturer! That means the scarves will be ready to go up on the site much faster now! Something really neat is we will be using 100% organic cotton! I’m so pleased with this decision to Go Green with this product.

Here’s how Scarf It Up will work:

Companies will contact me to design a scarf inspired by their business

Those scarves will be posted for sale on my site including a tag that explains the inspiration of the design which in turn gives advertising for that company.

If you are interesting in a uniquely designed scarf for yourself or your business please contact me!

Pricing is dependent on the design, we will go over that once you’ve contacted me.

If you have a company, business, or brand and want one specialized – let me know! I will incorporate your company, business, or brand into the design – I won’t necessarily copy it – that way it is more unique

Scarf MANIA

I am branching out from the original Scarf It Up! Challenge and starting a project involving scarves – lots of scarves. Are you ready for it? I don’t want to give away all of the details just yet, but I shot a quick video for you. I will be telling you more in the coming weeks and things develop. Scarf it up!

Today’s post was inspired by Sam Ewen of Interference Inc. I interviewed Sam for a webcast with StartupsLIVEtv and in our banter conversation after the show he joked with me about the scarf I was wearing today. Let me explain – I was wearing a blue and white scarf with a short sleeve shirt. It’s COLD down here in south Alabama right now, but not cold enough for a jacket, therefore I was wearing the scarf simply for “fashion” purposes. So when I told Sam about Fashion Trend Spotting he asked if I was selling my scarves there? HaHa. No. However, it did inspire me to take a look around at scarves and give my two-cents on them.

So here you go. This is a photo of someone’s scarf collection. They sure do have a lot of scarves!

What I love about scarves

You can wear a scarf to accent just about ANY outfit! you can wear a dressy scarf to stay warm with your cocktail or evening gown, you can wear a fun vintage scarf to add flavor to your casual jeans and top with jacket, you can wear a fun flirty scarf with your sundress. Also, you can wear scarves in so many different ways, the simple drape around the neck, the double drape around the neck, the fold and pull-through at the neck, around your head, around your waist, ect. (Note: I made up those names of scarf-wearing abilities. Those are not official scarf-wearing titles.)

How can we make them different

I would love to see people wearing scarves that they made out of old t-shirts that meant something to them. Or grandma’s dresses, grandpa’s ties, be creative! I’m going to start with my old sorority t-shirts (Go Phi Mu!) once I find them all. I’m going to make a PINK scarf out of my old Phi Mu t-shirts.
